Our vision
where we see ourselves in the future
COVID-19 presented a sudden and unprecedented challenge for the entire world. Although it threatened to halt our progress, to puncture our sails, our ship has never stopped sailing. Strategies outlined in our National Development Plan (NDP 2015-2030) anchored us amidst the turbulence and kept us poised for a prosperous future.
Our NDP is based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), on five key areas: a thriving economy, strong national identity, highly functional education system, leadership and sustainable development.

The intention of the mission
Our participation in the Dubai Expo will be underpinned by two overarching goals:
- To establish commercial relationships with the United Arab Emirates and other countries with shared interests, who want to do business with us.
- To engage with new partners by inviting them to explore investment opportunities and strengthen our relationship with longstanding partners.
While our economy is diverse, we are open to a wide range of propositions; our focus in the United Arab Emirates will be on attracting investments in renewable energy, tourism and water.
Even though the country’s energy policy is set to reach 50% by 2035, Aqualectra’s ambition and plans are set to surpass that target by 2025, to benefit the community and our environment.

حلول مستدامة من خلال افكار خلاقة خارج المألوف
Curaçao’s Take on Renewable Energy
That the future needs to be green is not a choice but a matter of survival for the entire planet. Climate change is an existential threat to all life, to everything that we know now and all that we could hope for. To Curaçao this has not gone unnoticed, which is why we are pioneers of the Caribbean in renewable energy generation and aspire to become the leader in the world’s green revolution. This is an upshot of the nation’s vision; a dream that began in the 1980s and is due to come to fruition in the future.

Curaçao’s Vision
for the Tourism Sector
Our vision for the development of the tourism industry is as wide as the sea that surrounds us. In the 60’s and 70’s, parts of this vision unfolded and came to fruition as the sector boomed into life, setting us apart from competitors across the region, and our relationship with key source markets: United States, the Netherlands, Venezuela, Colombia, and more. Even though COVID-19 affected Curacao’s economy, the importance and value of tourism in our economy is highlighted since it was the first industry to jumpstart the economy after the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the world. Thus, making tourism an unneglectable industry that the island relies on and remains very much on the forefronts of our minds.
